This Robert Plant pen and ink portrait was illustrated in 2004 by Canadian stipple artist Todd Claydon. Done before much of his artwork had become well known, this still remains one of the artist’s favourites. It captures a moment in time for Robert Plant that was burned into a generation’s minds for decades to come. Unfortunately this particular piece of art has sold out and prints of this stipple portrait are no longer available for public sale at Claydon Fine Arts. If you’re lucky someone may sell you one privately, there are 200 in existence.
Work on the massive 23 x 30 inch stipple piece titled “Led Zeppelin” is now complete. Prints are now available.

Robert Anthony Plant, (born August 20 1948) is an English singer & songwriter known as the vocalist of iconic rock band Led Zeppelin. This singer or “Rock God” as some know him also has had a lucrative solo career. In 2007 Plant finished Raising Sand, a CD produced by T-Bone Burnett with American bluegrass soprano Alison Krauss. This sparked yet another successful tour and won the 2009 Grammy Award for Album of the Year during the 51st Grammy Awards.
Plant has a career spanning more than 40 years. Robert Plant is certainly one of the most significant singers in the history of rock music. He has influenced contemporaries and later singers such as Freddie Mercury and Axl Rose. In 2006, magazine Hit Parader named him the “Greatest Metal Vocalist of All-Time”. In 2009, Robert Plant was voted “the greatest voice in rock” in a poll conducted by Planet Rock.
In 2011, the Rolling Stone readers’ pick placed Robert Plant in first place of the magazine’s “Best Lead Singers of All Time”.
